Welcome to the Northampton Veterinary Clinic.
We would love to take you on a tour of our facility. You'll
see
that our clinic resides in a turn of the century home which
embodies
all of the charm of New England. We would like to take this opportunity
to point out some of the features which allow us to practice
state
of the art veterinary medicine in our homelike environment.

When you first enter our hospital, you will be greeted by our friendly client
care coordinators. Once you are checked in you can make your way over to the quiet corner for cats and small creatures, or to our main area for more energetic dogs. We have a brand new scale and a children's play area where kids can pretend to be a veterinarian. Our Helping Paws Fund is a special fund that helps stray cats who need homes. Often times, cats looking to be adopted are on display in our kitty condo. Our client care coordinators also love giving treats to our healthy patients and enjoy having visitors who just stop by for a "cookie".
Howard
the clinic mascot is ready to take you on a tour. Just click
on Howard in each photo to wake him up and he will take you to the
next room.
You can also
use the navigation in each area if you prefer not to disturb him.

The exam
room is where you'll meet one of our Veterinarians.
She will perform a comprehensive physical examination on your
companion and address your questions and concerns, as well as
make health care recommendations.
We doubled the number of exam rooms we have! What does this
mean for you and your companion animal? It means less waiting
for viewing radiographs, appointment with our technicians,
and admit/discharge appointments. It is also an excellent place
for you to sit if you have a nervous pet that needs extra privacy
or a cat or dog that is coughing or sneezing (to decrease the
spread of any infectious diseases).

We can extend
our companions lives and improve quality of life by keeping
their mouths disease and pain free. We perform routine dental
cleanings, x-rays and extractions, when indicated, for both
our canine and feline patients.

Our
veterinarians don caps, masks, sterile gowns and gloves when
performing surgery.
Our patients receive intravenous fluids, administered with
an IV pump for regulation. Patients are continuously monitored
by both a technician and a pulse oximeter while under general
anesthesia. All of our surgical patients receive medication
for pain relief.

One specialty service that we offer at our hospital is telemedicine. With this technology, Dr. Paporello can send ultrasonic images and case histories to specialists across the country. The specialists are there to help interpret the results of diagnostic tests and to aid in forming an effective treatment plan with a very quick turn around time if necessary. Rest assured that we continue to strive towards cutting edge medicine to provide companion animals with the best care possible!

This is our x-ray unit which we use in both emergency and routine situations. In the near future, we are planning to upgrade to digital radiography. With this new technology not only will our doctors get clearer images, but our clients will be able to bring home a compact disc with their companion's x-rays on it.
